Excel Data Capture File
(posted 19 December 2008; updated 17 February 2010)

Click here to download the English version (164 KB).

Click here to download the Afrikaans version (158 KB).

Excel Quick-start:

- Once you have downloaded the form, open the file.
- Complete each of the fields on the header. There is on-screen help available.
- Then click on the "add species" link and fill in the sequence numbers for the species you recorded. The species total should automatically update in the header section.
- When you have finished, save the file under a different name (File --> Save As); this will allow you to keep the original downloaded file as a template to use for other cards. You can call the file what you like but a short appropriate name would be ideal. Note: save it in the '.xls' format (Excel 97-2003).
- Then attach the file to an email and send it to data@adu.org.za with the subject line SABAP2 Excel  You can leave the body of the message blank.
- Once submitted, you should then receive an email confirming your submission which includes a list of the species for that card and, if applicable, the number of Out of Range records. If you do not receive this confirmation email please contact Doug Harebottle
