Explanatory letter for landowners	This letter can be printed and given to landowners or managers to assit in gaining access to private or restricted areas. Pentad shape files (posted 30 July 2007)	Click here to download the pentad shape files (ZIP file, 1.6MB). These files are for use with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), e.g. ArcView, OziExplorer, Christine GIS Viewer, etc.
Coverage as CSV (posted 10 June 2009)	Right click and 'Save as' here to download the coverage map data as a csv file.
Google Earth pentads	Click here to download the pentads.kml file of all the pentads within the SABAP2 region. This file needs to be unzipped onto your PC (save it in a folder on your computer), and loaded into Google Earth (just double-click on the file once you have downloaded it). You must have Google Earth installed to load this file! Note: Initially when you load the file into Google Earth, the whole of South Africa is shaded white. In order to show the pentad grid layer you will need to change the properties in the file. To do this, click on the pentads.kml layer under 'Places', then right-click with the mouse and select 'Properties'. Then select the 'Style, Color' tab, and change the 'Area color' to 'Outline'. Then Select a Line colour (default is black)and press 'OK'. As you zoom in, the pentad boundaries will become visible.
