SABAP2 Governance
SABAP2 is governed by a Project Team, Steering Committee and Executive Committee. The Project Team is mainly responsible for implementing the operational plan and delivering products to achieve the objectives of SABAP2. The Steering Committee's main responsibilities are to guide and approve project aims, workplan, budget, methods and outputs, and to provide a forum for assessing and discussing SABAP2 progress. The Executive Committee provides decision support to the Project Team between Steering Committee meetings and represents the Steering Committee in day-to-day decision making for SABAP2.

- Mr Mark Anderson, Northern Cape Nature Conservation, representing provincial nature conservation departments
- Dr Phoebe Barnard, SANBI (chair), representing SANBI as partner
- Mr Michael Brooks, Animal Demography Unit, UCT - Project Coordinator: Data Curation and Feedback (ex officio)
- Prof Graeme Cumming, University of Cape Town, representing academic research
- Mr Doug Harebottle, Animal Demography Unit, UCT - Project Manager (ex officio)

- Mr Geoff Lockwood, representative of the amateur birding community, appointed by BirdLife South Africa
