The Ekapa Turn Kimberley green project aims to get at least four atlas cards for 144 pentads around Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province. A second aim is to submit at least one atlas card for as many pentads as possible once a year. This area is important for a variety of reasons, for example, in recent times species, such as Blue Waxbill, expanded their range into this area. Receiving regular atlasing data will enable us to detect changes in species distribution over time.
More than 350 species have been recorded here since SABAP2 began in 2007. Atlasers are invited to visit the target area and enjoy the wonderful species that can be found here.
